Richard Spencer offers his interpretation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet (1599-1601). He relates the play to Nietzsche’s Birth of Tragedy and the theory of tragedy more generally. He suggests that Shakespeare explored the “tragedy” of Protestantism’s entrance into England, represented by the Prince himself.
