My son wants to recite this speech of yours and others, like your NPI “Children of the Sun.” I don’t know the official title, but that’s how I reference it. College sports was fun to follow when the guys would stay at a college for 3-5 years. Now with the transfer portal and NIL sponsorships with NCAA athletes being paid, college sports is essentially a minor league for the pros. Since these "student athletes" are now mercenaries hopping from college to college like Blackbeard plundering the Carolina coast, it's time to end college sports and force the pro sports leagues to develop their own youth academies like European soccer (Messi was plucked from Argentina as a teenager by Barca and developed in house in their youth academy) and minor leagues. The NFL stands out as being weird with no minor leagues to develop young talent, it is subsidized by public colleges and the government who churn out talent for the NFL. No reason why the Raiders and Cowboys can't pay their 18-25 minor leaguers like the NHL and MLB already do.
