Only 33% of Americans support Affirmative Action. Blacks are only race that support it. Whites oppose it 57%-29%. Asians oppose ut 52-37. Hispanics dead even. Blacks support it 47-29 (24% not sure) so even Blacks dont consider it a big issue. In the end nothing will change; theyll found a way around it
I go to UCSD and I could have easily gotten in as a freshman because of my 34 ACT score although I didn’t get to take any AP classes in high school (was going to my senior year but then I moved to a school that didn’t have them) and I even got B’s in some of those classes, I think I even got a C in 9th grade English and a B+ in Calculus (that school considered anything under 94% a B though so it would have been an A at another school) but because I spread my legs as it were for the first college that my abusive foster parent would allow me to apply to their stupid transfer policy wouldn’t let me in until I got 60 credits at the Kafkaesque roach motel that is community college. I had to switch majors from Physics/Mathematics to Philosophy just to transfer because community colleges are unaccommodating to my disability (I developed severe social anxiety after leaving my abusive foster parent... don’t know how to explain it, just that school ceased to be my happy place and I found that I needed to study at home in order to understand/remember it and the classes at community college are more likely to punish poor attendance than those at a real college) and they didn’t offer any of their most advanced math/physics classes online and I had studied their entire curriculum and then some Good Will Hunting style at the library anyway. All I needed was to get a 3.5 GPA in these ridiculously easy classes (although I flunked a few from focusing too much on my autodidactic math studies). They didn’t look at my test score at all. It feels like community college is another form of affirmative action, a way to keep good test takers from poor backgrounds out. Although there is this process called “cooling out” which some people think is a source of racial injustice.
So now Dick is literally pissed off about the banning of Affirmative Action in colleges??? This guy never ceases to amaze me... At least they can't call him a White Supremacist anymore right?

the current system benefits good white and asian test takers and black and brown people.
